Tommy Bolin Deep PurpleThis title (Tommy Bolin – The Ultimate Photo Book, to be precise) has been under wraps until the organisers of the annual Tommy Bolin festival in Sioux City could announce it officially on August 2nd (though a teaser page on the site has been getting hits from keen Bolin fans). Flyers and posters produced about the book for the festival are already in demand apparently!  It’s a subject we’ve had in mind to do for ages but planning all came together earlier this year and release is planned for 2015.  You can see the cover visual and read a more about the plans for the title on the site, sign up there to get the newsletter, and as ever keep up to date by popping back to Stereo33Books every once in a while.

Genesis update

Just to let people know the first newsletter on the Genesis book is going out over the Bank Holiday. This will only be sent to people who subscribed for the service (hundreds have already done this). You can do so on the Genesis page on the site (the form is at the bottom of the page for those who have had trouble finding it!). We have also added a profile about one of the book’s contributors to the site, writer Jordan Blum, who will be looking at the influence the album has had on today’s prog rock bands.

Flattery?

Not sure how well this new spoof rockumentary will go down with Genesis fans, but Phil Collins has had a cameo and Peter Gabriel is due to appear in the third and final episode of The Age Of Rock. Check the BBC4 schedules for details and repeats. It’s clearly taken a lot of inspiration from The Lamb tour!

Unveiled

First up is Genesis / The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway; a detailed book focused on their groundbreaking album and tour from 1974/5. On the other side of the music spectrum comes a cross career photo biography of one of Britain’s finest rock guitarists, Ritchie Blackmore / A Light In The Black.
